We guarantee our workmanship and if problems develop that were our fault we will come to assess and repair as soon as possible. Because we are QBCC Licenced you have the peace of mind that we are legally required to correct any structural defective works up to 6 years 6 months from when the work is completed and within 12 months of you noticing the defect.

Please note our Workmanship Guarantee does not apply to products installed as they are subject to manufacturer warranties.

Rycan Retaining and Earthworks is committed to providing quality solutions but never at the expense of safety. We have developed and are continually improving our Safe Work Methods. Our work complies with all of the relevant Australian standards concerning customer safety standards and policies. Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011 as well as building regulations. All of our workers carry appropriate personal protective equipment. We do not work with Asbestos and will ensure that appropriately skilled and licensed professionals are engaged to work with asbestos if required.

Should you receive a cheaper quote from one of our local competitors we will beat it by 5%, if it is offering the same quality of materials and workmanship as we do.

Once we receive your inquiry we will contact you to arrange a time to attend the site and discuss your requirements. We will have a quote sent through to you within 7 business days.

Accepting our quote is super easy too. Simply click accept on our electronic quote. Once your acceptance is received, Rycan Retaining and Earthworks will issue you with a Trade Contract.

Rycan Retaining and Earthworks is a proud Member of Master Builders QLD. Therefore all our contracts are of the highest legal standing, fair, and easy to understand. We ensure you know your rights and obligations from the beginning. Unlike many other building contractors, we will always ensure you receive a copy of the QBCC Consumer Building Guide. Our Trade Contract includes the start and anticipated completion date of your project and a complete breakdown of the progress payment schedule.

To confirm a service booking Rycan Retaining and Earthworks abides by the QBCC deposit standards. Generally, if the cost of your QBCC-governed building work is $20,000 or more, the maximum deposit allowed is 5% of the total contract price (including labour, materials and GST). If the contract price is between $3,300 and $19,999, the maximum deposit is 10%.

An exception applies where more than 50% of the value of the work is to be performed offsite (e.g. when the materials are manufactured offsite), in which case the contractor is permitted to take up to 20% deposit.

For jobs priced at $3,300 or less, we generally work it out on a case-by-case basis depending on the job. Deposits are payable by bank transfer or credit card within two days of signing the trade contract.

Please note works are not booked unless the deposit and signed trade contract is received by Rycan Retaining and Earthworks. We can only tentatively hold dates in our schedule for up to 2 days at which time a deposit will be payable to secure the date. If not received then the tentatively held dates will be forfeited should another booking require them. 

Rycan accepts the following forms of payment:

Your property is in safe hands with Rycan Retaining and Earthworks. We have been servicing the excavation and retaining wall needs of the Brisbane Western Suburbs and Ipswich regions for over 10 years.

We carry Public Liability Insurance to the value of $20 million, Professional Indemnity Insurance, Civil Excavation, and Skid Steer Operator tickets, and are a QBCC Licenced Builder of Retaining Walls which guarantees you trouble-free service.

Should a Council Permit be required before or after works completion it is the sole responsibility of the Owner/ Managing Agent to obtain this.

If you require assistance with Engineering, Council Approvals, or Certification, Rycan Retaining and Earthworks can refer you to a 3rd party qualified professional for a quote.

Rycan does not have a qualified engineer or certifier on staff.

We will use our machinery with the highest of care for the existing landscape and will ensure all precautions are taken to eliminate any damage during the operation of works. It is our client's responsibility to locate and advise Rycan Retaining and Earthworks prior to the commencement of earthworks, of all utility services and fixed property (including but not limited to water, sewer, drainage, power, and telephone services) at the site, including by providing Rycan Retaining and Earthworks with ‘dial before you dig’ or other similar reports. Rycan will take all reasonable care not to damage any utility service or fixed property that Rycan Retaining and Earthworks is aware of. However, Rycan Retaining and Earthworks does not guarantee and is in no way responsible for any damages to these services and/or fixed property as a result of Rycan's access to the site and/or performance of the earthworks.

Home warranty insurance is a premium your contractor pays, on your behalf as part of the contract value, to the QBCC to insure residential construction work for fixed-price and cost-plus contracts.

Home warranty insurance only applies to residential construction work.

This insurance covers the homeowner for loss if something goes wrong during the building process. Within a certain time period, you can make a claim.

Please note Home Warranty Insurance is not applicable to all retaining wall projects, only those that impact the structural integrity of a dwelling e.g. house or shed, and are valued at more than $3,300 are required to be covered by the QBCC Insurance Scheme.
